Welcome to Random Designs, my name is Julian and I'm a freelance web developer and programmer, this meaning I can create you a website or bespoke piece of software to your needs.

Web Development

I've had years of experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and JavaScript, both commercial and personal. Starting from a young age (around 14 I think) I taught myself HTML, CSS and JavaScript. After going to university and learning much more in depth programming now I can create full websites full of useful functionality as well as style.

Be it creating a custom shopping cart (www.toshibatecstore.co.uk) or using the latest HTML5 with CSS3 (http://guyswhogeek.arandomworld.co.uk - still in development) I'm fully capable of creating a wide range of websites.

Bespoke Software

What I mean by bespoke software is a service of creating software that you require, perhaps personally or more likely as a business venture. I'm fully capable with Microsoft .NET Framework and currently becoming more familiar with WPF.

If you are unfamiliar with these then don’t panic, it’s very simple, if you need a program creating that, for example, reads data from an excel sheet, does some manipulating and stores it in another format, or prints in a specific format then I can make that software for you.

I've had a very strong backing with .NET as most of my commercial work has been with VB.NET, although C# is equally as easy. My main areas of experience are with serial and network communications, printing, SQL Server and customer integration (e.g. retrieving information from one source and prepare for another, a “go between”). I even began creating a basic 2D game based on the XNA framework, but sadly I lost all my project files and haven't picked it back up.

If you’re looking for some software that’s nothing to do with what I've mentioned feel free to contact me anyway as I thoroughly love learning new things and you’ll probably find I will have a go at making your software anyway because of the challenge which would lead to you having a reduced price because it gave me more knowledge and enjoyed it.
